Myer Ambassadors Jennifer Hawkins and Kris Smith have launched the Myer Spring Summer 2014 Collections tonight in Sydney, in front of 500 VIP guests, in a spectacular parade that showcased 62 models and over 200 new season looks by Myer’s stable of leading Australian designers.

The Myer SS14 collection launch creative vision was inspired by Australia's ruggedly beautiful Kimberley region, where the advertising campaign was shot in May.
The event was staged at the enormous Stage 7 at Fox Studios - and what a truly breathtaking building, with and equally stunning facade. It included a 48-metre long catwalk which was complemented by 100 metres of low-lying abstract ravines, beautifully interspersed with 1 tonne of richly coloured dust and glitter - it was all quite stunning.
Eight cellists complemented the show's soundtrack with breathtaking orchestral arrangements, designed by Graz, in collaboration with Chong Lim.
Renowned Sydney stylist Jolyon Mason brought together 31 leading women’s, men’s and swimwear designers in three distinct collection – outback by day, the reef and outback by night.
Jennifer Hawkins made a stunning entrance in Manning Cartell to open the show. Jennifer glides like a gazelle on that catwalk - she is positively stunning, radiates confidence, and looks relaxed and at home on the runway.
Jennifer took to the catwalk five more times through the show wearing gorgeous designs from YB J”AIME, Leona Edmiston (my fave look of the night), Aurelio Costarella, Cozi by Jennifer Hawkins and Maticevski to close the show.
Kris Smith appeared on the catwalk four times showcasing leading Myer menswear brands Arthur Galan AG, Blaq, The Rocks Push and Dom Bagnato.
International model Julia Nobis travelled from New York to appear alongside Jennifer Hawkins at the Myer launch, and sported Australian designer collections by Manning Cartell, sass & bide, Seafolly, Arthur Galan AG and Maticevski.
Politix Ambassador Harry Kewell made his catwalk debut for Myer in the Politix parade. Harry looked like a seasoned pro and not at all nervous - his gorgeous family cheered him on from the front row. (I sat next to the team from Politix and they were exceptionally proud and excited for him, and revealed he was incredibly comfortable and relaxed before the show).
Seafolly - Australia’s number one swimwear brand, and now exclusive to Myer - made me wish I could seriously accelerate my gym tone-up, stat... the swim and beach wear pieces were vibrant and fabulous.
Complementing the fashion was the stunning looks created by the incredible Kevin Murphy and Yves Saint Laurent hair and makeup teams.
The look this year was inspired by water and feathers, with Kevin Murphy creating a textured beach wave with a sleek wet finish, ensuring the final product was polished and chic.
“The waves have been pulled back off the face for a more modern look; I wanted to give the impression of a woman walking out of the ocean,” said Kevin.
“Fashion this season is all about the sharp silhouettes, so the hair needs to complement that by having a beautiful silhouette of its own that is strong but subtle enough not to detract from the clothes.”
Products used were:

Fashion media, and equally fashionable personalities and celebrities (a glowing Terry Biviano, Seven's Natalie Barr and Samantha Armytage, and stylist Jules Sebastian looking fierce, to name a few) sat alongsidre Myer Ambassadors, the stunning Laura Dundovic and Lauren Phillips.
And then, the fab food: guests were treated to delicious menu by renowned Sydney caterer Cook and Waiter: canapés including wattle seed lavosh with organic broad beans, ricotta and lemon apsen and ceviche of freshwater barramundi, crushed hass avocado and finger lime. Post-show, morsels included Crystal Bay Prawns with lemon myrtle mayonnaise, lobster macaroni and duck pies garnished with quince paste.
Desserts included wild passion fruit ice-cream with winter strawberries, and chocolate Bavarian cream tart with chocolate pearls.
Cocktails by Makers Mark and Vox Vodka were served with a native Australian thread including the Bush Spring Spritz, Choc Wattle Cocktail and the Native Honey Sour.
A perfectly executed event, and an inspiring look at what the season ahead holds.
