The cover of the October 2103 edition InStyle Australia magazine is one of the most breathtaking and beautiful I have seen .
That's because it features the breathtakingly beautiful Australian Jessica Mauboy, cover girl for the magazine's 'Australia Issue', which features seven iconic Australian women, photographed in seven iconic Australian locations. Fabulously executed concept.
You'd be forgiven for wondering a) whether this is Jessica's first fashion magazine cover (yes, it is).
And b) why Jessica has never been cover girl for such a title before?
Jessica leads the all-star cast of Australian women photographed wearing Australian designers, and she was photographed in Finke Gorge National Park, which is about two hours outside of Alice Springs, in the Northern Territory.
InStyle also captured the goddess-like Delta Goodrem (have you seen this woman in person? Stunning!) on the gorgeous white sand at Hyams Beach, NSW.
Isabelle Cornish was photographed in the rainforest at Protesters Falls near Byron Bay, while Natalie Imbruglia (below) was photographed in the surf at Sydney’s Wylies Baths, near Coogee.
Miranda Otto braved gusting winds for a rural country shoot outside of Orange, while Rachael Taylor’s shoot took place in freezing conditions in Freycinet in her home state of Tasmania and Alice Englert shoots was on Sydney’s glorious harbour.
InStyle editor Kirsten Galliott says, “InStyle’s Natural Wonders portfolio captures the diverse and unique Australian landscape, dramatically photographed with some of the country’s most intriguing women. The result of six months of planning, these portraits pay tribute to both the spectacular beauty of the land and the incredible beauty of some of the country’s leading female stars.”
Working with close to 60 crew members (gasp! What a production), the InStyle team covered close to 9000km, caught 40 domestic flights, called in more than 150 different outfits and spent almost 195 hours on location while bringing the portfolio to life. And what a glorious portfolio it is. Must be seen to be believed and appreciated.
The Australian designers featured include Alex Perry, Camilla and Marc, Carla Zampatti, Casey Tanswell, Collette Dinnigan, Dinosaur Designs, Elissa McGowan, Ellery, Josh Goot, Kailis, Romance Was Born, Sambag and Zimmermann.
The entire edition is a true collector's item: beauy from every page, glamour in every corner. Typical InStyle - she's all class, and loads of substance.
The October 2013 edition of InStyle magazine is on sale now.
