Today marks the return of Facebook’s 'Year in Review' feature, which allows you to see a list of the 20 “biggest moments” of this year, as you've posted on Facebook (including everything from tagged pictures to status updates to posts others have left on your wall) based on which received the most likes and comments.
Go to your profile, and on the left hand side you will see Year In Review. Click that, and watch Facebook collate it all for you to enjoy.
I'd forgotten about some precious moments I'd posted about earlier this year... was fun to look back!
Facebook is also considering introducing a ‘sympathise’ button so that users can express more sombre emotions, when a 'like' is not quite right... like a pet dying and your status saying you're sad (obv) but happy you spent so many special moments together (which part are you actually 'liking'?)
Users would select a negative feeling like ‘depressed’ from a set list of emotions when commenting on something.
Remember the days of the 'dislike' Facebook button?
Which button would you like to see introduced?
What about these cheeky suggestions?

What's with all the giraffe Facebook profile photos? The riddle, explained here: Someone posts the riddle on Facebook, challenging their friends to answer it in a private message. If the person gets it right, he or she keeps the same profile picture. But if the person gets it wrong, the friend must make his or her profile photo a giraffe. Here is the riddle goes like this: 3:00 am, the doorbell rings and you wake up. Unexpected visitors. It's your parents and they are there for breakfast. You have strawberry jam, honey, wine, bread and cheese. What is the first thing you open? You're dying to know the answer, right? It's one of two answers, both deemed 'right': you either open 'the door' or 'your eyes' first. It is 3am, after all. Have you taken part in this harmless (poinless) game? How did you fare? If you got it wrong... this:

Bistrips. What... the hell are they? Well, morethan 11 million people have downloaded Bitstrips since its launch in December last year.
It's the latest app to take for your smartphone by storm, and now it's all over your Facebook news feed, right?
Bitstrips allows users to turn themselves into a cartoon alter-ego, an avatar, and entertain friends by being part of a digital comic strip.
A new, updated version of the app was released earlier this week - with more than 1000 different cartoon templates to choose from.
With the company first releasing the Facebook app in December 2012, an iPhone version was only created at the end of September and updated, along with the release of an Android version this week.
In an excerpt from a piece in the Daily Mail online, Bitstrips CEO Jacob Blackstock told the Baltimore Sun in April: "Bitstrips is hard to categorize because it's not a game.
'"t's a new way to express yourself and interact with your friends. Instead of posting the same things as everyone else, you can create something that relates to your life."
Are you already over the latest craze? I'm not - it's rather amusing seeing people poke fun at their friends in an online comic. I am learning more 'dark' secrets about some pals than I expected...
According to syracuse.com, Bitstrips has incited a mixed response: some love creating their own cartoon, while others are are not seeing the funny side.

In case you didn't hear, Facebook was broken last night. That's right, people... folks across the globe lost the power, the God-given RIGHT to status update, brag, post food photos, post inspirational quotes, diss (yes, I said 'diss') their enemies in a passive aggressive way publicly. I myself had just returned from a fabulous Sydney party thrown in honour of celebrated author Jackie Collins and the photo I'd posted on Instagram would NOT upload on Facebook. For a moment, I thought the end was near. We were all doomed. Of course, I joke, but as I retired to bed after refreshing the screen lots, and thinking my internet was down (another potential catastrophe!) I noticed it was a real 'thing'... ironically, it was trending on Facebook: George Takei's FB page and The Huffington Post both posted stories and links explaining the social media mini catastrophe. How would we survive seeing THIS on our screens?!
Did you see the Facebook meltdown as it happened last night (US time, first thing in the morning?). This is what Facebook HQ told Huff Post:
UPDATE: Facebook says that it resolved the technical issues that led to the partial outage, giving the following statement to HuffPost:
Earlier this morning, while performing some network maintenance, we experienced an issue that prevented some users from posting to Facebook for a brief period of time. We resolved the issue quickly, and we are now back to 100%. We’re sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused.

You know those annoying hashtags you see on Facebook (they don't annoy me, though they seem to irrate many), well...
It has happened. Now, they are clickable. What does this mean? Type in a hashtag in your next Facebook status update and you'll see. You can then click on the hashtag and the status updates of people (friends and strangers) who have typed in this same hashtag will appear on your newsfeed.
Here is what Faceook said about this new social media development: Public Conversations on Facebook
Every day, hundreds of millions of people use Facebook to share their thoughts on big moments happening all around them. Whether it’s talking about a favorite television show, cheering on a hometown sports team or engaging with friends during a breaking news event—people on Facebook connect with their friends about what’s taking place all over the world.
During primetime television alone, there are between 88 and 100 million Americans engaged on Facebook - roughly a Super Bowl-sized audience every single night. The recent "Red Wedding" episode of Game of Thrones, received over 1.5 million mentions on Facebook, representing a significant portion of the 5.2 million people who watched the show. And this year's Oscars buzz reached an all-time high on Facebook with over 66.5 million interactions, including likes, comments, and posts.
To date, there has not been a simple way to see the larger view of what's happening or what people are talking about.
To bring these conversations more to the forefront, we will be rolling out a series of features that surface some of the interesting discussions people are having about public events, people, and topics. As a first step, we are beginning to roll out hashtags on Facebook.
Introducing Hashtags on Facebook Starting today, hashtags will be clickable on Facebook. Similar to other services like Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, or Pinterest, hashtags on Facebook allow you to add context to a post or indicate that it is part of a larger discussion. When you click on a hashtag in Facebook, you'll see a feed of what other people and Pages are saying about that event or topic.
Now you can:
• Search for a specific hashtag from your search bar. For example, #NBAFinals. • Click on hashtags that originate on other services, such as Instagram. • Compose posts directly from the hashtag feed and search results.
As always, you control the audience for your posts, including those with hashtags.
Hashtags are just the first step to help people more easily discover what others are saying about a specific topic and participate in public conversations. We'll continue to roll out more features in the coming weeks and months, including trending hashtags and deeper insights, that help people discover more of the world's conversations.
For more, click here. So now, you ARE indeed hip and happening doing the hashtag thing on Facebook. Yes, you are.
Thank you, Mark Zuckerberg...

You know the drill. You overhear gossip-y talk on public transport and you want to switch off - you want them to switch off - but the chatter keeps going and going... and going. Often it's salicious, sometimes you're drawn in, mostly you're bored, because the thing is... you don't know the people, nor the people being spoken about so it's kinda not that interesting. At. All. But. It keeps going. How many times have you wanted to the tell the person on the mobile phone - or TALKING RATHER LOUDLY to the person right next to them - to shut the hell up. Well. This woman went further. This is what she posted on her Facebook page: 'If this is your husband, I have endured a 2 hour train ride from Philadelphia listening to this loser and his friends brag about their multiple affairs and how their wives are too stupid to catch on. Oh please repost...' Steph Strayer wrote on Wednesday.
This is the photo she posted publicly:
At time of this post, it had been shared more than 183,000 times. And, he had not been identified. Yet.
What do you think? Too far? Would you have done the same thing?

Things are rough all over, Ponyboy. But I think we can all agree I've got it pretty bad...
But worst of all...
Sometimes I see an animated GIF and I can't even relate to it.
Smell ya later, internet. I've got a birthday bash to shop for ;)
